This will be my last posting regarding the E-Learning course. All the assignments are now done and I'm waiting for the assessment for the group work. There should not be any problems to pass the assignment, but it's always interesting to read the feedback from teachers.
All in all the course was ok. I think it should have been concentrated either on the tools (datoranvänding) or on the methodology (E-Learning). When both topics where put into same course the information could not be very deep. I also think that most of the students are still not able to search for articles in the databases and understand what's the meaning of that. But I can be wrong also.
Personally I've been taking similar lectures before and know something about methods and methodology. For me the most important thing was to get access to the databases with scientific articles and also to learn how to find those through the university systems. Very valuable information.
When it comes to computer usage, it didn't offer me too much new and I must admit that I did most of the exercises hastily and they where of questionable quality. But I can Word, Excel and Powerpoint so there was not much challenge in the exercises. If the tools part would have been deeper it would have been more interesting.
One function that we use a lot at work is the track changes in Word. That is a feature that can be used if multiple people work on a document, or if changes needs to be followed for review purposes. Very useful thing and widely used, but due to the limited content in the course this was not part of E-Learning/Computer Usage course. Same applies for Excel macros.
But as said. I was satisfied with the course as a whole and as it demanded a bit less work from my side, it was a good course to start the online engineer studies. I wish that in the future there is possibility and room to split the course into two separate courses with deeper content on both parts.
